Austria,
Niederosterreich,
Youthful colour here, blue-purple, with a medium high intensity. Fresh nose. Very much on the primary fruit. Feels like freshly fermented grapes, which it is actually. Black currant, plum, slight hint of new wood. Vanilla, mild spiciness. Good purity of fruit. Good intensity. Good bite on the palate here. I would put it somewhere between the medium to full in terms of body. It has a good intensity of fruit. Ripe dark berries with cassis and plum shining through. A bit more spiciness emerges on the palate with mild pepper, vanilla and clove. In terms of texture, it does not really have a lot of tannin. They are already quite finely integrated and will continue to do so over the coming years leaving a roundness on the palate. A nice character here with what I call the Austrian spiciness with very ripe and juicy modern fruit. Not really a lot of oak on the palate. The finish is pretty substantial and lingering, leaving a good impression. I would happily drink this today and it should continue to develop over five, six, seven years.
