Tenuta Montemagno – Mysterium – 2012
Barbera d'Asti Superiore

Italy,
Piedmont,
Youthful colour here, rather black-blue-purple; still a very dense core. Nice nose here, attractive, floral with violet, dark plum. A lot of floral notes going on, and rather a darker fruit character. No oak to talk about. Well-rounded palate here, juicy - and I mean juicy as a very positive thing like freshly crushed plums, dark berries. No tannins to talk about, no oak to talk about. Really a rounded and supple style with a very good drinkability. There’s a certain length to it as well. So I think it’s an open, attractive and friendly wine. Something I would happily drink.
