Portugal,
Peninsula de Setubal,
Medium intense colour, ruby-red, with a certain evolution. Nothing blue or purple there. Fine nose good purity here indicating quite ripe fruit. More in the direction of red berries and plum. There is some spiciness as well of anise seed, liquorice. There is a slight touch of oak in the background, but nothing roasted or intense. I think it has a certain maturity so it has integrated a little bit. Medium weight on the palate. With quite a tannic backbone here. Feels like it is just about to integrate right now. We still have that tannic presence paired with quite ripe fruit. It feels like more warm climate style. Some dried fruity character. Some jammed fruit character. Some sweet fruit with that spiciness. Again more anise seed. Medium long finish. Still with that slightly tannic sensation. So it feels like again, hotter climate. Still with a modern vinification. Attractive and juicy fruit. A style I prefer to drink today and over the coming two to three years.
