Greece,
Peloponnese,
Medium towards deep ruby-red colour, with a slight purple hue. Looks quite youthful. Good purity on the nose. Very fruit driven style. Lush dark fruit in there, like plum, dark cherry, lots of dark berries. No indication of oak and a certain spiciness. Good grip on the palate. That is nice. I like it very much, because this is a wine with, I would say, medium towards full. It offers a lot of fruit, good flavour intensity here with juicy ripe berries. There is a good level of tannin, but I think these are quite grainy. It is still youthful but nothing is harsh. Again particularly with food it should not be a problem, as they would really nicely interact there. Fine spiciness as well. There are layers of liquorice, pepper. Good length. Oak is very discreet if there is any oak. Obviously, this is a wine with this density and concentration, it should easily develop for the coming eight to ten years. I must confess this is not a style I taste particularly often, but I must also confess that I really like it due its attractive dark fruit, that juiciness, good level of freshness and nice modification.
