France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very inky colour, impenetrable, with a purple-black core. Beautiful nose, very expressive. A lot of spiciness. This displays really ripe fruit with inky dark berries, plum, blackberry, cassis, with a lot of pepperiness. There are some dried herbs, some note of garni, with a slight touch of roasted wood. Still very youthful, indicating really high ripeness of fruit. Very good bite on the palate. Dense and powerful, yet with a soft texture. Well integrated tannin, almost powdery. Nicely underlined by new oak. It is still youthful and noticeable, but more in the direction of spicy vanilla than too much toastiness. Really good weight here. I like the spiciness a lot. I like the combination of ripeness which is balanced by a quite bright acidity. Really long finish, with hints of black pepper, liquorice. Youthful, with a good potential, but quite delicious already.
