Italy,
Veneto,
This wine has a very deep colour. The core is still dense ruby-red, but it is turning slightly brown-orange at the rim. Fine nose indeed. It is showing some complexity with a quite intense fruitiness. At the same time, there is also a hint of earthiness with notes of black truffle. Quite perfumed with hints of spice box, dark cherry, cassis and plum. Very good bite on the palate. This is a dense and very concentrated wine, but the edges are finely rounded. Extract and tannins are quite polished. Fine flavours of that sweet ripe dark fruit, with hints of bitter chocolate. There is a slight hint of wood, finely roasted oak, fine level of spiciness. Good weight. It indicates sweetness but it is I think, well-balanced in terms of acidity and the finish is really dry. Yeah, well-balanced with good length. Long and lingering finish. There is good development. There is an approaching complexity and I would happily drink this today.
