France,
Bordeaux,
Quite intense colour here, with an almost opaque centre, slightly lighter on the rim, but appearing rather youthful. Fine nose here, very fruity expression. With ripe dark fruit, particularly blackberry, with dark plum, also some earthy notes and some floral components, like violet. I like the structure here. It is rather mouth filling. It would probably fit in the full-bodied category. However, I like the quite soft extraction here. The tannins are grainy and fine. Delicious dark fruit like blackberry, wild raspberry and plum. There is a slight hint of oak on the palate, not obtrusive in any way. Just some roasted flavours that were not really noticeable on the palate. Add to that some sweet spices, I talk about clove, ginger, a good level of freshness. I would say acidity is balanced, still with a good level of freshness. The finish is on the longer side. Long and lingering. Really a fine combination of dark fruit and freshness. Well rounded. I find it really attractive to drink it now. Obviously it has the potential and structure to go on for at least ten years. Quite inviting already.
