Château Le Sartre – 2010

France,
Bordeaux,
Intense deep colour here, still very youthful, with a black purple core. Intense nose here, very opulent with roasted wood, some spicy notes and layers of dark fruit like cassis, blackberry, dark plum. Very nice freshness on the palate here, we have a good density, really ripe inky dark black fruit but with a well-preserved freshness here, good levels of acidity; plenty of fine tannin giving a good lift, good length. Very persistent on the palate with a fine combination of that dark fruit and some of those woody notes like vanilla. Very long finish, still very youthful but yet in a polished style. I’d happily drink this today, but it doubtlessly has a potential for 10-15 years of evolution in a good cellar.
