Château Bouscaut – 2014
Pessac Léognan

France,
Bordeaux,
Youthful appearance, with a slight green hue, quite pale golden nuance. The nose appears youthful as well. It is displaying some roasted oak. Good purity of fruit here, with barely ripe stone fruit. Some zesty hints of lime zest, lemon. Chamomile and some herbal spiciness. Also some nuttiness from the roasted oak. The palate is really bright and fresh. With medium weight. It certainly has good extract. It has a long finish. It stays on the palate for a good while, with a great deal of zestiness. Still quite young and restrained in terms of fruit. Well-built in terms of texture and length. Fine potential indeed. Enjoyable now, obviously for its freshness and purity, but I think this is definitely a wine that will gain more dimensions and complexity from further ageing. It should easily have up to eight years of development potential.
