Portugal,
Peninsula de Setubal,
Youthful, very dark, inky colour, black-purple core. Quite smoky nose here. Spice and smoky with some meaty notes. Hints of freshly ground pepper, clove, ginger, with a plethora of dark fruit. Such as blackberry, dark plum, slight hint of oak. Quite modern and opulent it seems. Dense palate. Still youthful with a quite high level of extract. Not as much as some other examples though. I think this is still approaching a certain drinkability. So really attractive fruit with those dark berries. There is a spicy hint of liquorice and pepper. I like the smokiness and meatiness on the finish. Quite long it gets more rounded and fruit-forward on the finish. So a wine that should certainly develop well, but after twenty minutes in the decanter, particularly with a nice piece of steak, it should have a good drinkability already.
